Basement Dances continues to circulate at a time of global crises, driven by an aesthetics of care and performance activism. It raises awareness of women artists in exile, their persecution and forced migration, and of the potential of creative practice as acts of hope and resistance, as contribution to cultural healing and empathic transformation.

The project has been supported through Bath Spa University, University Brighton, Electro Studio Project Space Hastings, DockDigital Berlin, Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg, Leo Baeck Institute London, Gesellschaft für Tanzforschungg (GTF), The Hilde Holger Archives London, Primavera Boman–Behram, Marion Kant, James Bachelor, Liz Aggiss and many other individuals.
