Basement Dances is an ongoing research and archive project, gathering media and editing specific sections that document and reflect on the life and work of Austrian jewish Choreographer and emigrée Hilde Holger (Vienna 1905 - London 2001).

Video 2: Rehearsing ‘Image’
In 1993 Hilde Holger choreographed 'Image', based on music by Germaine Tailleferre. The dancers are Claudia Kappenberg and Anthony o'Flaherty, the filming of both the rehearsal and the performance to camera in London was directed by Liz Aggiss in 1993. This edit is entitled Chapter 3 in view of a potential longer film that would reflect on Hilde Holger's life and work across Vienna - Bombay - Camden Town. Edit: Claudia Kappenberg (2022)
